Everybody knows that traveling double occupancy is more cost-savvy. When travelling with someone, sharing a room will be cheaper than booking two separate rooms and it’s also nice to not have to eat alone. If you are travelling for business with someone, you may be lucky enough to have more of a choice of where you get to stay. To many business travelers, the idea of not staying at a hotel could be considered heretical. The predictability of hotels makes them look solid.

However, in the last few years, one of the fastest growing segments of business travel is home and apartment rentals. Data shows that while the total volume of short-term apartment rentals is still small, it’s growing exponentially. Home and apartment rentals from companies like Airbnb and Homeaway offer millions of listings around the world. Traditionally, these companies have focused on vacationers, but you can also use home rental on business trips. It will get your business trip a homey comfort, less variability in pricing, and more relaxation.

One of the added benefits of a home or apartment rental is the added space to move around and increased facilities such as kitchens, laundry and so on. Many travellers would rather turn down the slightly invasive room cleaning service provided by hotels for having the peace and tranquility of your own space which is uninterrupted during your stay. Having a two bedroom property if there’s two of your adds more space and flexibility too. The communal spaces may even double up as acceptable meeting spaces too if you need to organise meetings.
